According to a piece of news from newspaper Correio da Manhã via Sport Witness, Man City have joined the race to sign Porto defender Alex Telles – with the Sky Blues potentially looking for some proven left-back reinforcement.
The Brazilian, bagging an impressive eight goals and five assists from out wide, could be the answer to City’s recent problems in that position which have been highlighted through Benjamin Mendy’s injury issues and a lack of other natural options.
Should City sign Alex Telles?
Yes, we need left-back cover
No, we have Mendy, Angelino and Zinchenko
Despite re-signing Angelino from PSV Eindhoven last summer, manager Pep Guardiola opted against playing him regularly over the likes of Mendy and Oleksandr Zinchenko – resulting in the Spaniard heading out on a six-month loan to RB Leipzig.
Now, as per this report, the Sky Blues may be looking at Telles as a permanent solution to our left-back conundrum – resulting in many City supporters praying we sign the 27-year-old bargain.

Amazing player, old enough to have experience and still has a lot of years in him, transfer fee so little in today’s market and he’s Brazilian so he’ll get along well with our Brazilian/Portuguese pool
