According to a report from Sky Sports, Manchester City look set to battle it out with arch-rivals Man United for the signature of promising RB Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano – prompting some Sky Blues to discuss the transfer link on social media.
Upamecano, who has made more tackles than any City player domestically this season bar Joao Cancelo and Oleksandr Zinchenko, is now being linked with a move to Eastlands – with the young defender currently valued at around £52.5 million.
It’s no secret that we have leaked goals at the back this campaign, mainly down to the absence of star defender Aymeric Laporte through injury which has forced manager Pep Guardiola to play Fernandinho at centre-half alongside the rotating Nicolas Otamendi and John Stones.
Should City swoop for Upamecano?
Do it
Too risky
As a result, some Sky Blues are willing to listen and offer their opinion on any new transfer links – with potential interest in Upamecano seemingly attracting plenty of attention.
Here’s what they had to say on Twitter.
The next mangala

Switch him for Angeliño, Angeliño gets to play in a system that fits him better, we get a nice centre-back

City should buy him. Strong, young and even scoring goals. What else do you want?? Good player
