According to a report from the Telegraph, former Newcastle United boss Rafa Benitez wants to make a second coming at St. James’ Park – apparently wanting to sign City defender John Stones upon his return to the north east.
Stones has struggled for game time under Pep Guardiola despite forming a solid partnership with Aymeric Laporte last season, starting just 10 Premier League games for the Sky Blues over 2019/2020.
Should City sell Stones?
Yes, profit off him now
No, he still has a future at Eastlands
Despite the opinions of some supporters who believe he was ‘world class‘, it appears many City fans would like to see Stones move on to pastures new following a mixed run of form.
The Englishman’s latest mishap, a slip in the Carabao Cup final which allowed Villa to pull a goal back, as well as a poor season overall, appears to stick in the minds of supporters despite his heroics during our domestic quadruple-winning campaign.
As a result, many Citizens have flocked to discuss Newcastle’s potential interest in the 25-year-old – find all of their best comments down below.

He’d do brilliantly there.
Was world class for us before his injury and never really had a consistent run since. Would be sad to see him go.
