Fabrizio Romano says ‘deal agreed’ with Man City over 19 y/o, medical pending

Manchester City have made a decision on Kayky and will send him back to Brazil after agreeing a loan deal with Bahia, says Fabrizio Romano. The Brazilian Serie B side are the newest City Football Group club, having been bought by City’s owners recently.

Romano, a football journalist and transfer expert, says Bahia have a ‘deal agreed’ with Man City for the 19-year-old to return to South America after his stint at Paços de Ferreira was cut short. Pending a medical, Kayky will be a new Bahia player for the rest of the season, though the exact length of the deal is unknown.

Kayky joined City from Fluminense in 2021 and has gone on to make three appearances for the U19s, 14 appearances for the U21s (6 goals, 4 assists) and two appearances for the first-team. The Brazilian youth international spent the season on loan at Paços Ferreira but had the move ended early after struggling for form and playing time – 9/21 appearances with 0 goals and 0 assists.

Kayky will hope a return to Brazil will improve his form as he now has a lot to prove after failing in Portugal. The 19-year-old is a talented right-winger who’s already charmed Pep Guardiola enough to get the nod for City’s first-team a couple of times, but he needs to shine in Brazil to stay on Pep’s radar.
