Man City player signed for £10m in 2021 ‘could go’ out on loan this summer

Kayky hasn’t made the biggest impression at Manchester City since his 2021-move from Fluminense, so Sam Lee of The Athletic says the Premier League champions plan to loan him out next season. He wrote: ‘Domestic youth loans out of City are set to continue. Kayky, a £10million “emerging talent” arrival, could go too.’

The 19-year-old has made only a handful of senior appearances for City, instead featuring heavily at youth level, so he’s being temporarily moved on to a club willing to give him competition football.

Kayky cost City £10m last year and has gone on to make two appearances for the U19s and 14 appearances for the U23s, scoring six goals with four assists. He’s played twice for the first-team and made the matchday squad on occasion, but the Brazilian youth international is low down the pecking order.

He’s not done enough on the training ground to convince Pep Guardiola that he deserves to play and has the likes of Riyad Mahrez, Jack Grealish, Bernardo Silva, Phil Foden and Cole Palmer standing in his way of getting playing time.

A loan would suit all parties. City need to give Kayky first-team football at a level he can handle, in the hope he’ll develop to get Guardiola’s attention, but it remains to be seen which club he’ll end up at.
