According to a report from ESPN, Man City are eyeing a swoop for Everton left-back Lucas Digne who is currently valued at around £25.2 million by Transfermarkt – representing a far cheaper alternative to fellow target Ben Chilwell.
Indeed, as per this update, ESPN claim that City are keeping tabs on Digne as another option to Leicester City star Chilwell – who could command a much more expensive £75 million fee.
Which left-back would you prefer in the starting XI?
Benjamin Mendy
Angelino
Ben Chilwell
David Alaba
Digne, who has started 29 games for the Toffees this campaign, has been a mainstay under both Marco Silva and Carlo Ancelotti – with City believing that he could be a potentially fruitful alternative.
According to WhoScored, the 26-year-old left-back has averaged more tackles per game than all of City’s regularly featuring back line this season – potentially highlighting the notion he could be a smart acquisition.
Many City supporters, flocking in reaction to the update, certainly think so – going on to claim he would be ‘insane‘ and a ‘great signing‘.

Digne should be first choice ahead of Chilwell. Digne would be a great signing and we could give Everton Stones back in return
