Responding to a challenge tweet from Sky Blue news account City Chief, plenty of supporters have flocked in full praise of club stalwart Fernandinho – with many Citizens doing their best to describe the Brazilian in one word.
Since signing for us from Shakhtar Donetsk in the summer of 2013, Fernandinho has gone on to become a revelation under both Manuel Pellegrini and Pep Guardiola – playing a pivotal role in all three title wins from that point.

Last season, the 34-year-old put in the performance of his life during our 2-1 victory over Liverpool at the Etihad Stadium in January – an evening that was arguably crucial to our eventual title triumph.
As well as this, Fernandinho made the most tackles on average out of any other squad member who played more than 15 games last year – potentially highlighting his importance in defensive midfield.
