“Phew”, “This is great news” – Plenty of MCFC fans applaud “promising” update

|

Speaking in a post-match press conference via the Manchester Evening News, manager Pep Guardiola has confirmed that defender Eric Garcia is responsive and conscious following his collision with Ederson – prompting plenty of City supporters to applaud the ‘promising‘ player update.

Garcia, starting just his third Premier League game for the Sky Blues this season, played alongside star defender Aymeric Laporte as we returned for our first footballing encounter since the global pandemic.

Will Eric Garcia become a future star for City?

Yes, great ball-playing centre half

No

While the match ended in a comfortable 3-0 victory for City, with goals from Raheem Sterling, Kevin De Bruyne and Phil Foden sealing an evening back to remember, Garcia had to be stretchered off minutes from full-time after a nasty collision with Ederson.

Unresponsive, the Spaniard was carried away from the pitch, but now manager Guardiola can confirm he is conscious and currently being treated.

As a result, some Sky Blues are relieved – here’s how they wished the best for our youngster.
