Report: Man City still interested in £63.6m man with 22% shot conversion in Serie A

Pep Guardiola failed to replace Sergio Aguero with Harry Kane over the summer and instead used Gabriel Jesus, Ferran Torres and Raheem Sterling in attack, but Gazzetta dello Sport (h/t Sport Witness) say Manchester City still have an interest in Dusan Vlahovic.

The 21-year-old joined Fiorentina on a five-year deal from Partizan in 2018 and has gone on to make 96 appearances in all competitions, scoring 39 goals with five assists. Last season, Vlahovic bagged 21 goals in 37 Serie A games. This season, he has eight goals in 11, so it’s easy to see why City would be keen.

He won’t come cheap with a reported €75m (£63.6m) asking price, but Vlahovic does have many years ahead of him and might be a great long-term servant if signed. He’s scored from 22% of his shots in Serie A this season too, so he’s a decent marksman.

It just remains to be seen whether City would stump up the required money to lure him away from Fiorentina. Guardiola would prefer Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund to lead his line next season, so Vlahovic might be plan B.
