According to a report from the Manchester Evening News, the Sky Blues have been using two starting elevens in training matches ahead of the Premier League season’s resumption with a few interesting names thrown into the mix – prompting many City fans to react.
Indeed, as per this update, manager Pep Guardiola has been using two teams in training with an abundance of names but also surprising exclusions – with the likes of Claudio Bravo, John Stones, Joao Cancelo and Ilkay Gundogan nowhere to be seen.
However, youngsters Tommy Doyle, Eric Garcia, Lukas Nmecha and Taylor Harwood-Bellis were given a shot to impress Guardiola as he weighs up who will start our first return fixture against Arsenal.
The two teams, both labelled different colours, looked like this:
Orange: Ederson, Kyle Walker, Nicolas Otamendi, Fernandinho, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Doyle, Kevin De Bruyne, David Silva, Nmecha, Raheem Sterling, Sergio Aguero.
White: Scott Carson, Harwood-Bellis, Garcia, Aymeric Laporte, Benjamin Mendy, Rodrigo, Bernardo Silva, Phil Foden, Riyad Mahrez, Leroy Sane, Gabriel Jesus.
Reacting to the omissions, many City supporters had their say down below.
Feel for Harwood-Bellis.
He’s against Sané
