According to Man City’s official website, former Under-18s coach Gareth Taylor has been appointed to manage the women’s team on a three-year contract – resulting in plenty of Sky Blues gushing over the ‘great‘ move on social media. 

Taylor, who was worked throughout City’s Elite Development Squad for the past half a decade, managing the U16s and U18s sides, has now been rewarded for his years of service with the Man City women’s head coaching role.

Putting pen to paper on a three-year deal, ex-player Taylor will oversee the the Sky Blue ladies’ pending title charge having replaced former boss Nick Cushing.

The latter man departed in February to take up the vacant assistant manager’s job at New York City, with Taylor stepping into his shoes ahead of next season’s Women’s Super League campaign.
