Manchester City are moving forward in their search for a Sergio Aguero replacement and have Danny Ings, Patson Daka, Harry Kane, Darwin Nunez, Edin Dzeko, Romelu Lukaku, Ali Akman, Erling Haaland, Lautaro Martinez and Arek Milik on their radar.
Fichajes say the Sky Blues are still monitoring Darwin Nunez, however, but may have competition from AC Milan, Real Madrid and Barcelona for his signature. The 21-year-old has earned suitors after impressing at Benfica since September 2020 but has a €50m (£42.75m) asking price, so he won’t come cheap.

Nunez joined Benfica from UD Almeria for £21.6m last summer and has gone on to make 34 appearances in all competitions, scoring 12 goals with nine assists (Transfermarkt). His future looks bright and his value has doubled in the last six months, but City don’t appear to be deterred.
They’ve long held an interest in the Uruguayan international but would prefer one of Mbappe, Haaland or Kane leading the line next season. Nunez might be the second-best option if they can’t land their top target.
He boasts more shots on target in the Primeira Liga (one every 83.5 minutes) than Raheem Sterling (one every 85.8 minutes) and Gabriel Jesus (one every 123.1 minutes), so Guardiola might have a striker he can finally rely on.
Real need a replacement for Karim Benzema, Barcelona need to upgrade Martin Braithwaite and AC Milan need a replacement for Zlatan Ibrahimovic, so all four suitors could battle it out for the centre-forward in the coming months.
